In this virtual workshop series, artists are invited to turn their journal into a studio companion and idea incubator. Through interactive Zoom sessions we'll explore simple, repeatable practices artists can use to generate content, clarify ideas, and deepen connection to their work.

SEPTEMBER TOPIC: WRITING AN ARTIST STATEMENT (AND HOW IT'S DIFFERENT FROM AN ARTWORK STATEMENT)

In this interactive journaling workshop, you’ll:

- Explore your core values and creative motivations

-Use guided journaling prompts to uncover your personal “Why”

-Shape words that inspire your art, fuel your career, and connect you with audiences

Calling all foodies! Join Oceanside Museum of Art at 24 Suns for an exclusive culinary adventure like no other, inspired by the David Adey: Sacrificial Bodies exhibition! Through unexpected textures, forms, and techniques, 24 Suns creates an immersive 5-course dinner experience that is both visually striking and thought-provoking, allowing you to experience the exhibition in new and exciting ways. Your journey through each course will be guided by Artist David Adey and Chef Nicholas Webber, who will share about each edible expression of transformation, curiosity, and artistic exploration.

Rupinder will lead a brief tour of the gallery sharing about her inspirations and artistic journey. Founded in 2022, Persian Place is a nonprofit organization created to provide space and time for artistic experimentation and research with an emphasis on Persian art. Bring your website link and/or images of your artwork for a live review and feedback session with Cathy Carey! This workshop revisits the first of three Art Business Labs professional development workshops, taking a hands-on look at how online tools can support artists’ practices from crafting effective prompts and streamlining writing tasks like artist statements and bios to sparking new ideas and offering fresh perspectives on work in progress. Cathy will lead live demonstrations using participants’ websites and artwork, showing how these tools can be applied in practical, creative ways.

The Art Business Labs series provides practical strategies to help artists strengthen their careers and expand their reach in today’s evolving art world.
