Oceanside Museum of Art has a long history of exhibiting fiber art that challenges traditional perceptions of the medium. In our second hosting of Quilt National, we present a selection of innovative designs that demonstrate the surprising and inspiring directions explored by the contemporary craft of quilt making. Quilt National is a biennial juried exhibition of the most remarkable and technically excellent international fiber art organized by the Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens, Ohio. Over 850 images were submitted for this year’s exhibition from 44 states and 17 foreign countries. OMA will be showcasing 32 of the strongest award-winning quilts selected for this 18th biennial exhibition, chosen by a jury panel comprised of internationally recognized quilt makers and artists Linda Colsh (Everberg, Belgium), Judith Content (Palo Alto, CA), and Penny McMorris (Bowling Green, OH).
