Enjoy refreshments and experience a fast-paced and in-depth artwork critique of up to 10 juried artworks! Jurors Danielle Deery, Independent Curator; Patric Stillman, The Studio Door, Hillcrest; and Chris Padilla, UC San Diego Craft Center will select the works from submissions and will also run the in-person session.
Art lovers and artists curious about the process of a professional critique are encouraged to attend the session for free as observers. The critique will be followed by a moderated audience Q&A session. Audience members will learn just as much from the feedback given by the professional jurors as those who were selected for the critique. Featuring artwork by: Mieko Anekawa, Marianna Baker, Danni Bao, Lucy Boyd-Wilson, Neil Brooks, Theo DeHart, and Birdy Harrison.
Note: Registering for this event is not the same as submitting your artwork for consideration to be critiqued. Submissions to be one of the featured artists are closed.

Event Details
In today’s art world, a strong online presence is just as important as the work itself. This workshop helps artists identify their actual and ideal audience and understand who they are really speaking to—collectors, curators, or community. From there, participants will explore how to define a clear brand voice, using archetypes to guide how they present themselves authentically. We’ll break down the major social media channels, showing how to choose the right platforms for your goals, and share practical strategies for creating posts, reels, and videos that truly connect. Artists will leave with the tools to confidently market their work online and build relationships that last.
A limited number of scholarships are available for artists who wish to attend but cannot support the fees at this time, contact katie@oma-online.org to inquire.

Cezanne’s Multi-Dimensional Paintings

Join artist Aaron Kramer for a hands-on workshop exploring the playful mechanics of automata. These are simple machines that use movement to bring small sculptures to life. Inspired by the Aaron Kramer: Sense of Wonder exhibition, participants will learn how he transforms salvaged materials, mechanical parts, and curiosity into imaginative kinetic creations.
In this workshop, Kramer will guide you step by step in designing and building your own small automata machine using metal components and hand tools. As you bend, shape, and assemble the parts, you’ll discover how simple mechanical systems can create surprising movement and storytelling.
All materials are included in the workshop fee. This workshop is best suited for teens and adults, as it requires some dexterity and strength to use the metal-bending tools. Kramer will provide guidance and assistance throughout the process to ensure everyone can successfully complete their piece.
Come ready to experiment, tinker, and bring a bit of motion and wonder to your own handmade creation.

Get ready for a week of creativity, curiosity, and happy, paint-splattered hands. At Oceanside Museum of Art’s Summer Art Camp, kids get to spend their days making art, exploring ideas, and learning from our Gallery Educators in a welcoming Museum setting.
TWO UNIQUE WEEKS: SIGN UP FOR ONE OR BOTH!
LIMITED TO 25 SPOTS PER WEEK!
June 15–19, 2026 | 9:00am–3:00pm
June 22–26, 2026 | 9:00am–3:00pm
While both weeks visit the same exhibitions and explore similar big ideas, no two weeks are the same! Projects, subjects, and materials shift each week, so returning campers will enjoy fresh challenges. This allows returning campers to deepen their skills while creating entirely new artwork!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Campers will learn foundational art skills like drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpting, and mixed media while also building confidence, problem-solving skills, and creative independence. Activities include drawing cartoons with a professional cartoon artist, designing and building cardboard “automatic machines” inspired by the Aaron Kramer: Sense of Wonder exhibition, creating custom prints on tote bags inspired by the Matrix Multiplied: Hybrid Approaches to Printmaking exhibition, plein air watercolor painting, collaborative mural-making, beach sketching, mixed media collage, and more.
Beyond art techniques, campers practice observation, creative thinking, collaboration, and expressing their ideas visually. OMA's galleries are our inspiration labs, and every project encourages experimentation and trying something new (there’s no “right way” here!)
Each day includes a walk to the Oceanside Public Library (OPL) where free lunch is provided by the Lunch at the Library program if needed, otherwise kids can bring their lunch from home. OPL is our favorite neighbor and a great place to reset before heading back to the studio.
WAYS TO SAVE
Early bird sign ups are available for non-member registrants to save 10% using coupon code "OMAEARLYBIRD" before March 16*. Active OMA Members save EVEN MORE with 20% OFF Summer Art Camp registration, just enter your member email when registering! Learn more about OMA membership here.

Pricing artwork can be one of the toughest parts of being a professional artist. This workshop demystifies the process by breaking down how experience, scale, medium, and market shape value, and offers strategies for maintaining consistent, professional pricing—whether selling independently or through galleries. We’ll also cover online sales platforms like Saatchi, Fine Art America, RedBubble, and Society6, outlining what artists need to succeed, from strong images and bios to a cohesive body of work. Participants will leave more confident in pricing their art and better prepared to expand their reach online.

Join artist José Huge Sánchez Jiménez, featured in the Matrix Multiplied: Hybrid Approaches to Printmaking exhibition at OMA, for a hands-on workshop exploring the art of sculpture, community, and printmaking. In this session, José will guide you in creating your own handheld three-dimensional bee, inspired by the monumental bee featured in his exhibition piece.
Learn about the interconnectedness of the hive as José shares the symbolism behind his work, and receive expert guidance on carving and adorning your bee. In the exhibition, José’s giant bee also functions as a printmaking tool; carved, inked, and used to create unique prints. You’ll explore these same techniques in miniature, gaining insight into how sculpture and printmaking can merge.
All materials are provided. This workshop is suitable for artists of all ages and skill levels who are curious about hands-on sculpture and creative experimentation.

Kick off your weekend with a bite-sized happy hour version of our renowned Studio Arts workshops. Gather with friends in an artistic space designed to amplify your creative side.
Join arts educator Robin Douglas, as we dip our toes into the work of celebrated artists over drinks and nibbles, followed by a rapid demonstration of their styles. You’ll then be guided to interpret these artists and create your own singular, spectacular work of art. We’ll help you express your unique style and ensure you have a blast doing it.
Warhol at His Best
Starting with copies of some of Warhol’s famous faces, paint portraits in your own color scheme at this Taste of Art workshop. Try using single images or experimenting with multiples in the Pop Artist’s famous style!
All levels of experience are encouraged to participate. OMA provides food, drinks and supplies; all you have to do is get yourself out of work, grab your friends, and have fun!
