The practice of collecting art boasts a rich history that traces back centuries and transcends nationality. Join Robin Douglas for an exploration of some of the world’s greatest art collections including those of Catherine the Great, the Medicis, and J. Paul Getty, as well as a host of other unique figures who have cemented their legacy in the art world over a lifetime of acquisitions. We’ve been asked to stay home, but we don’t have to be alone. Join Artist Alliance for a cup of coffee and enjoy some conversation with fellow artists. Sculptors, painters, photographers, artists of all disciplines are welcome.
Join the conversation from a computer, tablet, or smartphone. You will need an internet connection, speakers, and a microphone.
Feel free to snap a photo of what you are currently working on to share with the group—especially if you participated in the Plein Air Paint In earlier in the day. Send a copy of the image prior to the event by following these simple steps:
With the Plein Air Paint Out on hold for the time being, everyone can continue painting with the Plein Air Paint In! Open to artists at any level—paint the world through your window, in your backyard, or from your studio during the event’s usual time. Afterward, join OMA’s Artist Alliance with a rejuvenating drink of your choice for virtual Coffee and Conversation to share your work.
Join Carlsbad-based artist Bryan Snyder for an interactive art-making experience that highlights faces of the community. Whether you choose to honor a friend or a family member, or even yourself as the subject, enjoy the full process of building a mixed media portrait with easy-to-find supplies and an abundance of creativity. As an artist with a unique social practice, Snyder will share the process of taking his art to the streets as a means to celebrate community. Registration is required and space is limited.
