Paul Jenkins and a Morris Louis used very controlled rivers of paint to produce veils of color on canvas. No brushes were necessary to produce luxurious abstract pools of color. The luminous and powerful presentation of overlapping colors were their trademarks. Robin Douglas will explore their techniques in watercolor painting to inspire the class to create their own artwork with the same methods. What does a person’s inner landscape look like—a mountain, ocean, skyline? During this imaginative workshop, Robin Douglas will encourage participants to explore their inner geography by creating a 2- or 3-D fantasy landscape, moonscape, or dreamscape using mixed media. In addition to unique and abundant studio supplies, participants can also bring their own materials.
