Slow Art Day

Before we all had a lot more time on our hands, most people spent an average of 10 seconds looking at a single painting. Slow Art Day is a global event that fits well with quarantine schedules as it invites participants to slow down and enjoy the discoveries art can offer. While this event is usually celebrated in museums around the world, this year it will be held exclusively online, rather than in person, so everyone can participate from the comfort of their own homes. Check back here on Saturday morning for the link to connect with a specially curated pop-up gallery featuring works of art from OMA’s Artist Alliance 2019 Biennial exhibition and get ready to engage with art on a deeper level through some thought-provoking activities designed for all ages. Be sure to follow the slow stream of artwork on OMA’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts all day long. Ready, set, slow—click here to get started.
