Virtual Lecture: Food and Art (A Love Story)

With an endless amount of variety and flavor, food and art serve as the perfect pairing, bringing people together and providing nourishment for the soul. Join Robin Douglas for a virtual feast and discover why artists—from the Romans to Rembrandt to the major contemporary artists of today—have been so compelled to use food as subject matter. Sit back with a glass of wine or your beverage of choice and dig into a smorgasbord of delectable and mouth-watering works of art, each to be savored like a favorite meal. As we say goodbye to 2020, this is also the perfect time to give thanks to all who have supported OMA throughout the year by sharing an exclusive sneak peek of programs being offered in 2021.

Painting Challenge And Plein Air Art Share

In association with OMA’s upcoming Plein Air Festival in April 2021, all artists are invited to venture solo into the great outdoors and paint iconic Oceanside locations throughout the month. Suggested locations for December are Oceanside’s many little beaches off Pacific Avenue, notably the ones at the end of Crosswaithe Street and at Marron Street. Then plan to connect with other artists during Coffee And Conversation on January 3 for a virtual plein air art share. (Image shown here is by Kate Joiner.)
