Join us for a virtual conversation with celebrated sculptor Manuelita Brown and art historian Dr. Denise Rogers of San Diego Mesa College as they discuss Brown’s artwork and influences in anticipation of her featured work in several exhibitions at OMA this season. Explore the story of a singular artist and learn about her philosophy on artmaking and process, diving deeper into the many connections her work weaves with both past and present through community-focused dialogue. This program will be hosted by Alessandra Moctezuma, curator of the upcoming exhibition Twenty Women Artists: NOW opening at OMA on March 13, 2021.
We suggest you connect at 6:45 to give you time to manage any technology issues before the conversation starts at 7:00pm.
