QUILT VISIONS 2010: NO BOUNDARIES
October 24, 2010–March 13, 2011
Collaboration with Quilt San Diego/ Quilt Visions
In Gleason Gallery
Moving beyond traditional notions of quilting and into the realm of contemporary fiber artwork, Quilt Visions 2010: No Boundaries will surprise visitors with 39 exceptional art quilts. Ranging in styles from abstract to representational the quilts on view challenge one’s notion of what a quilt can be. Oceanside Museum of Art is thrilled to present its fifth exhibition in conjunction with Quilt San Diego/ Quilt Visions. This year a distinguished panel of jurors, Jason Busch, Curator of Decorative Arts at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Linda Colsh, award winning quilt artist, and Penny McMorris, art curator and co-author of The Art Quilt, reviewed 601 entries submitted by 270 artists from 20 states and five foreign countries.
