Scarred For Life Workshop With Ted Meyer

Ted Meyer loves to print scars and hear about their origins (the bigger and more textured, the better). He works with small to large groups of survivors and helps them to make art from their traumatic physical experiences. Once someone prints their scar it becomes something different. Something other. It might be a scar but once it is printed and hung on the wall it turns into art with a strong backstory. Supplies will be provided.

Taste of Art: Matisse And Picasso, Interpreting A Masterpiece

Join Robin Douglas to enjoy drinks and appetizers, a brief presentation and demonstration, then dive into an organic and colorful, geometric and monochromatic painting workshop. You will explore the composition and color of genius artists like Matisse and Picasso, and use their techniques to produce your own masterpiece. All supplies provided.

Lecture: Behind The Scenes Of 20th Century Women Artists

O’Keeffe, Kahlo, Krasner, De Kooning, Frankenthaler, Sherman, Chicago, Butterfield, Holzer, Weems—these women and many more have made great contributions to the art world.  Often overshadowed by their male counterparts, learn these female artists’ real stories with Robin Douglas.

Workshop: Color Theory—The Art Of Seeing And Using Color

Seurat, Itten, and Close all used the science of color in their artwork as a new way of transfixing the eye. Robin Douglas will explore color theory and its application with pencil, paint, fiber, and collage. See, mix, and use color to create an exciting visual work. A variety of materials will be supplied.
