Tango At The Museum

For the third year in a row, tango will take over the lobby of Oceanside Museum of Art as part of Valentine’s Week. Beginners and experts, singles and couples—all are invited to come dance at the museum. The evening will start with an happy hour of wine and snacks. Once dancers have had a chance to mingle and get to know one another, the one-hour instruction will begin with just walking. Following the lesson, instructors Krista Ann and Matthew Bellamy will demonstrate a short tango. Having partnered with each other for many years, their artistic mastery is worth the price of admission alone. After learning the basics of the dance, dancers will practice until 9:00. The instructors will be available to help and answer questions. Dress to impress. Argentine tango is an elegant dance. Nice dinner wear is appropriate. Smooth bottomed shoes are best for being able to pivot. Avoid flip flops or rubber bottom shoes. Both couples and individuals are welcome as partners will be rotating in class. Online registration is closed. Call (760) 435-3721 for availability.
