Join Robin Douglas for a new look at celebrated artist Georgia O’Keeffe, who in addition to her legacy of paintings capturing the great Southwest crafted numerous homegrown recipes focused on promoting simple flavors and natural foods. Create your own painting and recipe pairing drawing inspiration from her distinct artistic and culinary style. O’Keeffe inspired refreshments and all supplies for your original artwork will be provided.

Swing by OMA and experience the intersection of three art forms that influence our everyday lives.
Join Robin Douglas for an exciting look at the special relationship art, music and fashion have had through the ages producing some of the world’s most evocative works of art and designs. Create your own work of art in a variety of media inspired by great music and the genre-bending work of Marty Ornish and Saki, the co-winners of last year’s Night Of The Living Art: An Art After Dark Fashion Extravaganza. Taste of Art: Portraits–Imagined and Imaginative
Every face tells a story and throughout time artists have created portraits that reflect an inner essence. Join Robin Douglas to unpack the how and why of famous portraits, including a demonstration on human facial proportions, and be inspired by OMA’s current exhibition Contemporary Portraits from the Simay Collection before starting your own art work using realistic, ideal or abstract portraits in a variety of media. Refreshments and all supplies for your original artwork will be provided.

Taste of Art: Catch The Great Wave
Take a deep dive into the legacy of one of Japan’s most influential artists Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) and his iconic Great Wave landscape print that took the world by storm. Join Robin Douglas to create large format paintings, epic ocean scenes and meaningful symbols all fused together to depict nature’s power. MONDAY & WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 6 AND 8
French master Henri Matisse (1869-1954) had a passion for figures and costumes, as well as textures and patterns that culminated in his iconic paintings. Join Robin Douglas to paint the figure in this exuberant and loose manner. Demonstrations, quick studies, and longer poses will be completed during both sessions. All supplies for your original artwork will be provided.

Let the materials and processes inspire you! Join Robin Douglas to collage, paint, and make prints, by using layers of thoughts and materials to guide your creativity. Exploring a variety of influences such as Robert Rauschenberg, Mark Bradford, and the work of Neil Kendricks currently on display at OMA, we will apply, scrape, print, combine images, and paint creating unique creative expressions. All supplies for your original artwork will be provided–and feel free to bring your own from home.

Mosaics, gold, and silver influenced Klimt to develop glowing, sparkling works of art that dazzled the world. Inspired by the artist’s iconic Gold Period, focus on people, landscapes, and dreamscapes as subject matter and create your own iridescent painting with Robin Douglas as your guide. All supplies for your original artwork will be provided.

MONDAY & WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 AND 15
A master of painting in watercolor, O’Keefe completed over 200 watercolor paintings in a two year period. Explore her techniques in various landscapes, skies, and mountains by completing several studies before executing a final painting. Join Robin Douglas for a fresh look at the diverse environments of Oceanside through the lens of this signature artist, drawing some extra inspiration from the 2021 Plein Air Festival Juried Exhibition currently on display at the museum. All supplies for your original artwork including high-quality watercolor paper will be provided.
