About this month’s Art for All artist, Nereida: 


Nereida is a visual artist from Sonora based in Rosarito. Her pieces approach the relationship between memory and time through old photographs intervened with collage, embroidery and the exploration of new forms. She has exhibited individually in galleries and institutions in Mexicali, Oaxaca, Rosarito and Tijuana; and in group exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, and various parts of the world. Nereida will be the artist leading the collage workshop for all ages.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, June 2 at 12pm at the Oceanside Museum of Art.

Nereida es una artista visual sonorense radicada en Rosarito. Sus piezas se aproximan a la relación de la memoria con el tiempo a través de fotografías antiguas intervenidas con collage, bordado y la exploración de nuevas formas. Ha expuesto individualmente en galerías e instituciones de Mexicali, Oaxaca, Rosarito y Tijuana; y en exposiciones colectivas en México, Estados Unidos, y varias partes del mundo. Nereida sera las artista dirigiendo el taller de collage para todas las edades.

Join us at the Oceanside Museum of Art on April 7th from 12:00PM to 2:00PM for an amazing workshop on Persian fabrics. Delve into the captivating world of Persian textiles and discover the techniques behind their beauty. Led by two talented artists, you will have the opportunity to learn Pateh embroidery and Ghalamkari, Persian hand block printing techniques. This interactive session is open to all ages and completely free of charge. We’ll provide all the necessary materials, so come and explore the artistry of Persian fabrics with US!

We will be partnering with Cynthia’s Artistic Expressions to create collages and paintings inspired by the iconic styles of Basquiat and Romare Bearden.
