Come celebrate this year’s NEA Big Read in partnership with the Oceanside Public Library and help kick off an exciting month-long program focused on the joy of sharing a good book. Inspired by the novel Into the Beautiful North by Luis Alberto Urrea, this event invites guests to explore Griselda Rosas’ exhibition Regata Abscisa. A community art project will illuminate the novel's core themes of storytelling, and self-determination while reflecting on personal experiences at the U.S.-Mexico border. Free copies of the book will be offered while supplies last. NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment of the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. Admission is free.
