- Artwork must measure exactly 5 inches tall x 5 inches wide (no smaller and no larger), and no more than 2 inches deep.
- All submissions must be original works of art created and owned by the person making the submission.
- Although there is no submission limit, we’ve grown so big we’re getting more work than we can include! Not all submissions will be included in the initial sale. They will be retained for future Teeny Tiny sales
- Any and all media and art making processes are encouraged!
- Each tiny masterpiece will be sold for $25.
- Buyers will not know the identity of the artist, whether they are a novice, professional, civic leader, or local celebrity, until they purchase the artwork.
There’s A Tiny New Part of the Art Mart This Year…. A Virtual Auction!
By popular demand, Teeny Tiny is trying something new this year: a hand-selected group of 25 Teeny Tinies will be offered through a three-week virtual auction, right at the top of the beloved fixed-price sale you know and love. These carefully selected works have been chosen by a staff committee to reflect a range of media and artists. This limited pilot invites collectors to engage a little differently—bidding on exceptional small works to further support the same vibrant educational programs OMA offers to inspire the next generation. With bidding starting at $25 each, the auction adds a note of excitement and possibility to an already iconic event.

About the Artwork
All artwork measures an exact 5 inch by 5 inch square.
To keep the spirit of discovery and accessibility at the heart of this event, all artworks will be sold anonymously at the same price point. Buyers won’t know the identity of the artist, whether they are a novice, professional, civic leader, or local celebrity, until after the purchase is made. This creates a level playing field and encourages collectors to buy what truly speaks to them.
Artist names will be listed on the exhibition webpage. This approach celebrates the connection, curiosity, and joy when collecting art. It also allows established artists to participate generously, knowing that their contribution helps make art accessible to everyone while adding an element of excitement for buyers.
All artworks will be sold at an accessible price of $25 +taxes and fees. California requires that sales tax (8.25%) be collected for the sale of tangible items like artwork. A 1.5%–3.5% credit card processing fee will be charged, depending on the type of card used. An additional 2.5% processing fee is added by default but can be turned off at the buyer's discretion. Previewing and Viewing the Art

No, the artwork will be eyes-only. In addition to protecting the fragility of artwork, part of the fun is keeping the artists’ identities secret until you buy it!
Buying Artwork and Checkout
This year the Art Mart is a sale AND an auction! 25 artworks will be clearly listed as AUCTION items starting at $25, with bid increments of $10. All other artworks can be purchased at a BUY NOW price of $25 plus taxes and fees. You can purchase artwork on the virtual sale site at bit.ly/tiny2026.
Anyone registered for the sale will be able to both bid on or buy artworks. BUY NOW artworks are first-come, first-served—once you purchase the artwork, it is yours and cannot be purchased or bid on by anyone else.
All artworks are listed in the same place: click on "Art Mart" at the top of this page to access both AUCTION items and BUY NOW items.
Auction items will be clearly indicated in multiple ways:
- The top left corner of the image will have a call-out that says AUCTION item.
- The title of the item will say AUCTION item.
- When you click on the item you will see a bright pink BID button.
- If you only want to see AUCTION items or BUY NOW items, when you log into your guest page click on "All Categories" at the top of the page and select the category you want.

When we decided to try an auction this year, it was important to do so without disrupting the spirit of the sale that so many artists and collectors love. Rather than reshaping the entire program, we chose to keep the fixed-price model intact and introduce a small, carefully selected group of works as a pilot. This allows us to experiment thoughtfully, honor the charm of the original format, and explore new ways to grow support for our education initiatives—while keeping Teeny Tiny, at its heart, the same community-driven celebration it has always been.

The auction will close on Sunday, February 22 at 5:00pm. You will receive a notification from the BetterUnite platform if you are the winner on an item at that time. You can purchase artwork on the virtual sale site at bit.ly/tiny2026.
If you’re outbid before the auction closes, the work will go to the highest bidder at the close of the sale. We encourage bidders to keep an eye on their bids as the closing date approaches, or to use the auto-bid feature, which allows you to set your maximum bid in advance. Auto-bidding helps ensure you stay competitive without needing to monitor the auction constantly, especially in the final moments.

You have the option to set a max bid so that you don't have to keep out bidding your competitors. Click into the auction item you want and select the "set max-bid option." You can then determine any amount for the maximum you're willing to pay for this item. We will automatically place bids on your behalf up to this maximum amount.
