FAITH RINGGOLD: A FOUR DECADE SURVEY

The work of painter, quilter, illustrator and storyteller, Faith Ringgold, is presented in a four decade survey of her career as an artist. She is known for transforming the African-American experience into contemporary art through life stories and historical events. This exhibit features quilts, paintings, illustrations, dolls and tankas. Ringgold's groundbreaking children's book, Tar Beach, was a Caldecott Honor Book and winner of the Coretta Scott King Award for illustration. She has written and illustrated five children's books.
