Big Read Collaboration

BIG READ

Partnership With Oceanside Public Library

OMA is embarking on an extensive partnership with Oceanside Public Library (OPL) for this year’s Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. Inspiration for three exhibitions at OMA and related programs at OMA, OPL, and other area venues was drawn from the 2014 National Book Award Finalist and New York Times Bestseller Station Eleven, an audacious, darkly glittering story of a nomadic group of actors roaming the scattered outposts of civilization, risking everything for art and humanity in the eerie days of civilization’s collapse. Copies of the book will be for sale in the Museum Store.

In addition to the exhibitions and programs at OMA, events connected to Big Read will also be offered by Oceanside Public Library, Friends of the Oceanside Public LibraryOceanside Cultural Arts Foundation, Hill Street Country Club, MiraCosta College, and The Old Globe.
