Parallel Visions – Visiones Paralelas Transitional Youth Academy Photography Exhibit

PARALLEL VISIONS - VISIONES PARALELAS TRANSITIONAL YOUTH ACADEMY PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT

November 12–December 18, 2011

In Groves Auditorium

This photography project connects local Oceanside teens and teens in Cartagena, Colombia, by bringing into focus two different yet parallel communities as seen through the lenses of the youth who reside there. This exhibit features 100 captivating photographs that weave together the vibrant tapestry of everyday life in these two communities - a juxtaposition of rural and urban images; from the enigmatic to the iconic, from the sorrowful to the sublime.

The Transitional Youth Academy, run by Interfaith Community Services is hosting this event to showcase the photographs of the youth participants. This program supports at-risk youth in building the life skills, educational, and vocational skills needed to successfully transition into adulthood.
