A Taste Of Art: Leroy Neiman
Thursday, February 9, 6:00–8:00pm Members $35, Visitors $45 Enjoy appetizers, beverages, and a brief presentation by Robin Douglas showcasing Neiman’s art work and then create your own splashy and exuberant painting with an explosion of colors. All supplies provided.
Art Making With Non-Traditional Materials
Using a variety of found and manufactured materials students will create multi-scaled objects. Printing, drawing, folding, painting, up-cycling, stitching, knotting, will be used in non traditional ways in group and individual exercises led by Robin Douglas. Inspiration will be drawn from the current exhibits at OMA and the artist El Anatsui.
Supplies needed:
Any materials, media, multiples, non-toxic objects that you have on hand. Many supplies will also be provided.
A Taste Of Art: Andy Warhol
Enjoy appetizers, beverages, a brief presentation by Robin Douglas on Pop Art and a hands-on workshop featuring the painting and printmaking processes used by Andy Warhol. All supplies provided.
Reverse Painting On Plexiglass
Using the reverse painting technique used by Tiffany Glass, paint with acrylics to create colorful images that will be mounted on and illuminated by a simple light box built during this three-day workshop taught by Robin Douglas.
Supplies needed:
• a sheet of plexiglass
• 1×2 clear pine strips to construct a frame around the plexiglass
• string of mini lights
• all other supplies will be provided
The Very Best of OMA Artist Alliance 2016
Artist Alliance is closing out the year with the exhibition, The Very Best of OMA Artist Alliance 2016, at L Street Fine Art Gallery located in Downtown San Diego across from the Omni Hotel. Juried by L Street gallery director Kay Colvin, this exhibition includes both two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork in a variety of media. Admission is free.
