Slow Art Day
Enjoy a focused art experience in the galleries and enjoy half-price admission as part of Oceanside Days of Art.
The average time visitors look at a single painting is 10 seconds. Slow Art Day is a global event with the simple mission to help people discover the joy of looking at and loving art. Participants at OMA will focus on three works of art and spend 5-10 minutes with each one before engaging in discussion with friends and docents, or online using #SlowArtDay.
Oceanside Days Of Art
As part of Oceanside Days of Art (ODA), OMA offers half-price admission to its indoor exhibitions during regular museum hours of 11:00am–5:00pm on Saturday and 12:00–5:00pm on Sunday.
Blackout Poetry will be available on the terrace for free from 12:00–3:00pm each day.
The 26th annual Oceanside Days of Art will be held this weekend at the corner of Coast Hwy 101 and Pier View Way in downtown Oceanside from 10:00am–5:00pm. ODA is a juried fine art festival featuring up to and sometimes over 100 local artists selling a variety of unique artwork including paintings, sculptures, glass, ceramics, fine jewelry, and photography. The festival which is offered free to the public has live stage performances, children’s and adult’s hands-on art activities, street chalk artist, painting and sculpture demonstrations, and a delicious variety of food choices in the food court.
Blackout Poetry
As part of Oceanside Days of Art, this free art activity on the terrace at OMA draws inspiration from Big Read novel Station Eleven. Using pages from literary classics, participants will write a “love letter to the world we live in” with blackout poetry style to form a visual and poetic masterpiece.

The Museum Ball: Beneath The Sea
Oceanside Museum of Art’s highly anticipated annual gala is taking elegance to a new level at The Museum Ball: Beneath The Sea. Attendees will enjoy an artful evening of dining and dancing under the stars. The night commences with a sunset champagne toast on the expansive Biogen-Idec museum terrace before party-goers proceed to the Oceanside Civic Center Plaza where cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and an al fresco dinner from Crown Point Catering will be served.
The live auction promises to have everyone’s paddles in the air competing to be the highest bidder on a variety of exclusive handpicked items. Guests will then dance the night away to the lively entertainment of local classic rock legends, The Fabulous Ultratones.
