Conceived by art historian and former San Diego Union-Tribune art critic Robert L. Pincus, this SmallTalk will explore his longstanding interest in the way the present-day shortcomings, problems, and crises in society—from racist police practices to xenophobic attitudes toward immigrants to the intrusion of religious beliefs into politics—are rooted in the past.
