This new series of performance work is created in direct response to current exhibitions. During this work-in-progress event, Alyssa Junious will be creating movement based around VALYA: SHE and incorporate audience response to her finished work, which will be presented in full on July 7. Museum guests are invited to join in the creation process of this new work happens during First Free Sunday on June 2. She will be at work on the terrace and in the gallery 2:30–4:00pm. Various ways to contribute feedback will be available. Museum admission is free from 12:00–5:00pm to explore all of the exhibitions. Junious graduated from Oceanside High School before attending UC Irvine where she earned a BFA in dance. She is a community influencer who creates work aimed at engaging audiences to see themselves reflected in the artwork.
