Lisa Yoder will teach students the basics of beading on fiber by creating a one–of–a–kind greeting card or small art quilt. The class will begin by looking at a few examples of hand–stitched and hand–beaded art quilts. Then, a discussion on the basic supplies used for beading and a demonstration on the proper way to secure a bead onto fiber. The rest of the class time will be spent beading! Basic Beading Kit: $15. This kit will be available for purchase at the class. A student who does not want to purchase the kit should bring the following supplies: beading needle black and white beading thread (two small spools) 3.5" x 5" fabric “sandwich” (front, batting, backing) of your choice several scoops of beads to complete your small project beading pad white or off–white greeting card with envelope (if the student wants to make a card out of her/his work)
