What happens when functional design meets human artistry? On December 13, 14, 17, and 18, 2025, Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) invites you to experience the iconic engineering and timeless craftsmanship of Triumph Motorcycles in a first-of-its-kind pop-up display.
In partnership with Triumph, OMA will showcase a curated selection of rare, vintage, and contemporary bikes within the Museum’s gallery spaces. This special four-day pop-up display highlights the shared language of creativity between artist and engineer, reminding us that art lives in many forms, even those that move.
Please note: The Museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Visitors can experience the four-day pop-up display on Saturday and Sunday, December 13–14, and Wednesday and Thursday, December 17–18.

Art For All | DIY Wrapping Paper

Each month OMA welcomes friends and neighbors on Free First Sundays to join in Art For All, our fun hands-on art-making experience led by artists and cultural partners from our community.

DIY Wrapping Paper

Join us for December’s Art For All, the last one of the year before we take a short winter break (we’ll be back in February!). This month, we’ll be getting festive by creating our own custom wrapping paper using stamps. Bring your gifts if you’d like to wrap them on-site! We’ll have plenty of ribbon and supplies to make them extra special!

Whether you’re new to art or have your own creative flow, Art For All is the time to let your imagination soar. Visit our current exhibitions to spark your creativity! Explore different art-making materials through creative projects at each session while learning from local and regional artists. Check back each month to see what we’re up to next!

These informal drop-in workshops are open to all ages. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided free of charge, while supplies last.

Artist Alliance Juried Critique | December 2025

Enjoy refreshments and experience a fast-paced and in-depth artwork critique of 10 juried artworks at this FREE event! Jurors Paul Ecdao, Co-owner/Curator of Thumbprint Gallery; LA-based Art Manager and Dealer Billy Gross; and Rokhsane Hovaida of California Center for the Arts, Escondido selected the works from submissions and will also run the in-person session.

Art lovers and artists curious about the process of a professional critique are encouraged to attend the session for free as observers. The critique will be followed by a moderated audience Q&A session. Audience members will learn just as much from the feedback given by the professional jurors as those who were selected for the critique. Featured artists: Silvana Barrios, Denise Brook, Neil Brooks, Theo DeHart, Elizabeth Gorcey, Elizabeth Janss, Steven Lombardi, Linda Morton, Denise Rudy, and Larry Vogel.

About Artist Alliance

OMA’s Artist Alliance serves as an affiliated membership group accessible to OMA members at any tier for an extra annual fee of $20 per person. This alliance fosters interaction, visibility, and professional growth for artists within the region. OMA holds a number of events that either feature Artist Alliance members’ artwork (both on-and-off-site exhibitions), are exclusive to Artist Alliance members (i.e. Artist Alliance Biennial), or offer free or discounted admission. Gallery Walkthrough with Kate Stern

In this casual meet-and-greet, join curator Kate Stern for a closer look at OMA’s current exhibition, Fabulous Fiber. Kate will lead a brief walkthrough of the gallery, sharing insights into the artists, materials, and creative processes that make Fabulous Fiber shine.

Questions and audience engagement are encouraged throughout this informal, behind-the-scenes look at one of OMA’s most vibrant exhibitions.

This program is free with regular museum admission.

 

Free First THURSDAY | September 4 | 5-8pm

This month, we’re flipping the script! Since we’ll be closing early at 1:00pm on Friday, September 5 for a private event, we’re celebrating Free First Friday a day early.

Join us on Thursday, September 4 from 5:00-8:00pm for free admission, exciting new exhibitions, and all the O’side vibes. Plus, it’s the perfect chance to double up on fun at the MainStreet Oceanside Sunset Market.

Plein Air Festival Awards Celebration

Celebrate the culmination of the third Oceanside Plein Air Festival with fellow artists and art lovers. View and buy paintings selected for the 2025 Plein Air Festival Juried Exhibition, and purchase your own original work of art at the Plein Air Easel Sale. Join us as we recognize the outstanding paintings in various categories and award the winning prizes, including Best in Show judged by Peter Adams, Toni Williams, and OMA Executive Director Maria Mingalone. As we put a stamp on a week of outstanding creativity, gather with old and new friends alike to raise a glass to art and the natural environment in Oceanside’s third Plein Air Festival.
