WELCOME TO OCEANSIDE MUSEUM OF ART
Located in a burgeoning coastal city along the cultural corridor between Los Angeles and San Diego, Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) explores new, relevant, and historical art of Southern California.
Like art itself, OMA is always fresh, sometimes edgy, sometimes traditional, and frequently unexpected. The OMA experience stimulates imagination, presents new ideas, and challenges the familiar in a welcoming environment for those new to art, longtime museum-goers, artists, art students, or simply the curious.
City Construction Notice: The City of Oceanside is doing water and sewer work on Pier View Way and Horne beginning September 8, 2026 through January 8, 2027. This work will take place during overnight hours from 9:00pm to 5:00pm Sundays through Thursdays. OMA general operating hours will not be affected, but you might see detours and No Parking signs in front of the Museum. Plan a few extra minutes for parking, and check here for updates. - High-volume touchpoints are sanitized several times throughout the day.
- Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the museum.
Even with diligent efforts and added safety precautions, the inherent risk of exposure to sickness exists in public spaces. OMA cannot guarantee that anyone who visits the Museum will not be exposed to an illness. As with any excursion outside your home into a public space, you voluntarily assume all potential risks related to exposure to illness during your visit to OMA.
When visiting Oceanside Museum of Art, we request that you adhere to Museum guidelines. No beverages or food are allowed in the galleries, and there are no glass bottles allowed on the premises. Smoking is not allowed. Alcohol is served at select events only to individuals with a government-issued ID aged 21 or older. Pets are not allowed unless as a registered service animal with proof of registration. We hope that you enjoy your visit to OMA!

Yes, you can just walk in and pay for your tickets at the front desk.
Hours of operation are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am-5:00 pm, with extended hours offered on the First Friday every month from 11:00 am- 8:00 pm. Hours are subject to change due to holidays and special events.

Animals are not allowed in the museum. Service animals are welcome and must have a valid form of identification and need to be wearing a service animal vest.
No. Only service animals with valid identification and vest are allowed inside the museum.
Yes, dogs are allowed on the terrace and must be on a leash at all times.
There is limited street parking, and the Civic Center Parking Structure on the Northwest side of the museum, off of Ditmar, has free parking as well.

Not at all! When you visit during operating hours, just let the front desk staff know you will be visiting the Museum Store. To enter the Museum Store you have to go through the main entrance of the museum.
