Griselda Rosas: Regata Abscisa old

Griselda Rosas: Regata Abscisa

February 15–May 24, 2020

In Spanish, “Regata” means a water channel that hits a wall. Tackling the issues of migration, commerce, and the exchange of goods between the border region of Mexico and the U.S., Rosas’ work underscores the chaotic breakdown of class and race structures after colonialism and territorialism. This exhibition is inspired by the novel Into the Beautiful North by Luis Alberto Urrea, Oceanside Public Library’s Big Read selection. OMA is collaborating with the library for this year’s Big Read, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. Copies of the novel will be for sale in the Museum Store.
