JOB DESCRIPTION
OMA is looking for a positive, hardworking individual to join our team as the Exhibitions and
Collections Associate. Reporting to the Director of Exhibitions and Collections, this position will
support the department director to ensure the successful roll out of all exhibitions within their
projected timeline. In addition, this position will undertake administrative duties associated with
exhibitions, collections, the Plein Air Festival and other special projects in cooperation and
consultation with other museum departments, contractors, and key external stakeholders.
Job Type: Part-time, hourly position. 8-24 hours/week based on project needs in the first year.
May approach near full-time during Plein Air Festival (July 15-22) while Director of Exhibitions
and Collections is on Maternity leave. Requires some evenings and weekends.
Salary: $20-25/hr, based on experience
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Creating and maintaining artwork checklists for exhibitions.
• Keeping digital files organized and accurately named (such as checklists, contracts,
planning notes, timelines, etc.)
• Scheduling meetings with artists, curators, docents, and committees, and inter-
departmental meetings pertaining to exhibitions.
• Assisting with the organization of artwork shipping and receiving; Overseeing artwork
intake and condition reporting.
• Working with the marketing department on exhibition marketing text and image
deadlines; organizing materials to share cross-departmentally as needed.
• Laying out and sending to print exhibition signage (interpretive texts, object labels, title
vinyl, and other supporting gallery signage.)
• Updating the exhibitions voice-greeting on OMA’s phone system.
• Selecting and organizing exhibition photos for website galleries.
• Writing acceptance and decline letters for juried exhibitions.
• Researching and obtaining multiple bids from outside contractors as needed.
• Attending exhibition planning meetings, staff meetings, and Exhibition and Collections
Advisory Committee meetings as needed.
• Responding to and organizing exhibition proposals.
• Maintaining on and off-site exhibition history records upon the opening of exhibitions,
both on site and off site
• Answering general email and phone inquiries about exhibitions and OMA’s Artist
Alliance.
• Supporting cross-departmental projects and initiatives as the point of contact for artists
and/or temporary (“pop-up”) art displays
MINIMUM QUALIFACTIONS
• Prior experience working in a museum, art gallery, and/or other art related positions.
• Previous curatorial or arts management experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of contemporary art making practices.
• Experience working with database and image management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Copy editing and writing experience is preferred.
• Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.

• Discerning eye for detail and an intuitive creative instinct
• Excellent time management skills; takes initiative and has the ability to manage a variety
