Workshop with Ana Andrade | PST ART Regional Weekend – San Diego

OMA invites our community to a free, drop-in art-making experience for all levels as part of the November 23-24 PST Regional Weekend – San Diego. Engage with Transformative Currents artist Ana Andrade for a special “microworlding” workshop.

Microworlding facilitates the building of a microscopic world using fragments of earth, and organic and inorganic materials from the environment around the region. Engaging with a different dimension that generates a sensorial experience, the attendants will make decisions, imagine possibilities, touch nature, see with another lens (4x – 10x larger) develop images with a microscope, and use their fingers (or tweezers if needed) to create their own sample tube. With this hands-on workshop, people will perform “studies” of a superorganism (which is planet earth) to make collages mixing the chosen samples and paint landscapes of a microworld.

Workshop with Marcos Lutyens | PST ART Regional Weekend – San Diego

OMA invites our community to a free, drop-in art-making experience for all levels as part of the November 23-24 PST Regional Weekend – San Diego. Engage with Transformative Currents artist Marcos Lutyens on the 23rd. Lutyens’ artwork includes installations, sculptures, drawings, films, writings, and performances. He envisions consciousness to be the sole common denominator of experience in a sea of environmental, social and technological change, and places his artistic efforts at that point of convergence.

In this workshop, participants will be guided through a brief meditation before modeling clay into oceanic forms that they visualize.
