Oceanside Museum of Art announces its fourth juried exhibition of regional artists, OMA Regional 4, which opens with a preview reception Saturday, November 19th from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Three esteemed members of the San Diego arts community were challenged to choose from over 160 entries. The OMA Regional 4 was juried by: Mary Beebe, Director, The Stuart Collection, University of California, San Diego; Derrick Cartwright, Director, San Diego Museum of Art; and Arthur Ollman, Director, Museum of Photographic Arts. The fine art of 31 artists will be showcased in a provocative selection reflecting recent trends in contemporary art. The exhibition will feature 41 original artworks that include paintings, prints, mixed media, and sculpture. The OMA Regional 4 is a wonderful opportunity to view a broad scope of styles and techniques from some of the most talented artists of the region. Past OMA Regional exhibitions have provided exciting surprises and discoveries. The exhibition is on view through January 8, 2006.
Visitors attending the preview reception on November 19th will have a chance to meet the artists and enjoy a great party atmosphere and delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by OMA’s own Culinary Arts Council. Admission for the wine and hors d’oeuvre reception is $8. The reception is open to the public and members of Oceanside Museum of Art attend free as a benefit of museum membership.
Oceanside Museum of Art is located at 704 Pier View Way in downtown Oceanside. Museum hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The museum is closed Mondays and major holidays.
